Hardwood floor buffering is a process that allows the wax to sink and seal the floor, thus giving the floor a shine. Most of the people rent or buy a buffering machine to make their cleaning procedure much easier. You can also hire people who do buffering.

As time passes hardwood flooring tends to lose shine with regular cleaning. It also needs regular waxing. Once your floor looses shine and has nicks does not mean it should be completely discarded. It's highly expensive isn't it? Then opt for buffering, its less messy and inexpensive alternative than changing the flooring completely. Hardwood floor buffering is a new technique that works fine to revive old hardwood floors. If done properly the old floor looks like new once again.

If the floor is severely damaged then buffering wont be able to restore it completely. Buffering works fine on floors with minor scratches, gouges and gaps. Buffering saves thousands of dollars and gives your floor a perfect shine. Damaged floors can be repaired by Mauro and Christopher Freville Flooring Supplies in Michigan.

Buffering Tips

Before buffering your hardwood floor, you should clean the floor well and keep all the equipments required during buffering in close vicinity. You will need things like, dust mop, broom, dustpan, floor wax, cloth and buffer machine with pads.

Clear all the furniture away. Sweep and dust the floor using the mop thoroughly. You should not use water to clean hardwood floors as water tends to seep through gaps and spoil the hardwood floor coating. Water damages the actual wood color and turns it into milky white. If you see some white spots on the floor then try to clean it with small amount of mineral spirit.

Hardwood floor should be swept and cleaned once daily as dust particles tend to cause scratches on the floor. You should check all the cords of the buffering machine before using it. Attach the buffer pad to the machine and then work on small areas once at a time after applying the wax slowly on the buffer pads with your hands or cloth.

Then slowly buff the floor till you get the right shine. Buffering restores the floor and it's in fact the most crucial tip of floor maintenance. You don't need to be an expert buffer to get the desired results, just be patient and you will be proud of your work. If you are unable to do it yourself then go ahead and hire professionals from reputed companies who can make your hardwood flooring look like new.
