Have you even noticed how
Japanese women age so gracefully? Being someone who
wants to keep my skin youthful and healthy for as long
as possible, I was curious as to what type of products
and ingredients are common in Japanese skin care. It was
a bit tricky (seeing as I didn't know Japanese), but
what I found was an essential anti aging ingredient
needed to slow down the aging process.
As you may or may not
know, collagen and elastin are the two most important
structural proteins of the skin. They are the proteins
needed to keep your skin firm, elastic, and tone. And in
order to notice these effects on your skin, collagen and
elastin proteins must be bonded together into fibers.
Hyaluronic acid is a
substance found in all your skin cells that is used as
'glue' to hold these proteins together securely in
fibers. But there's an enzyme in your body called
hyaluronidase that constantly breaks down hyaluronic
acid, leaving insufficient amounts to be used to make
these fibers.
But a critical part of
Japanese skin care is using a substance that stops the
activity of hyaluronidase called Phytessence Wakame.
This substance is derived from Japanese sea kelp, which
the the Japanese also eat both fresh and dry.
And since Japanese skin
care includes this substance in many of its skin care
products, the Japanese can keep their skin's elasticity,
smoothness, and tone at an ideal level.
Phytessence Wakame is
rich in essential minerals like sodium, iron, and
calcium to help maintain the skin's moisture balance.
B-group vitamins also give it amazing abilities to sooth
inflamed skin.
And because it's a
potent antioxidant as well, it protects the skin against
free radicals and the aging process, leaving the skin
moisturized throughout the day and smoother for much
longer that it naturally is.
